Il Caffe Un Po di Piu just recently opened in June 2018 and is located in the heart of old Montreal, at 3 De la Commune East St. It is open Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am to 9 pm. If you have ever been to Olive et Gourmando or Foxy, you are sure to fall in love with this place since Dyan Solomon (owner of both restaurants) is a part of the team who have created this location. Inspired by Italian traditions, the restaurant is open all day in order to serve coffee and breakfast in the morning, plus aperitivi and small plates at night just like most caffe's in Italy. Since the concept involves an all day caffe, there are 3 different menus:

Entrance

There are also many Italian desserts you can enjoy which are amazing like gelati, torta caprese (chocolate), olive oil torta.... We decide to share the crostata which had plum stuffing inside and was served with buttermilk ice cream.

We went around 11 am so decided to get breakfast at the caffe. In order to taste as much as we could we decided to share a variety of plates instead of taking one each. I would honestly recommend doing this because they are small plates easy to share. Same thing if you are going for the aperitivi with the small plates menu. We shared 4 different plates: Panino di Frittata, cheese and toast, brioche bread with homemade hazelnut and chocolate spread which was insanely good and the yogurt and granola. For anyone with a savory tooth, the panino is the choice for you. Very light but still filling. It's very similar to a burger but with an egg frittata instead of meat in it. As for the sweet tooth individuals, the yogurt with fruit and homemade granola is to die for! The fruits seemed to be just cooked a little bit in order to give more flavor and it was delicious. Also, the hazelnut spread that accompanies the brioche is insane! Taste exactly like in Italy! A must try if you ever decide to go to this place!!!

As for reservations, the restaurant as approximately 50 places, so I would say it is best to make a reservation before going! Plus, you can do it directly on their site. Also, if you have a event or are looking for a caterer you can call them at 514 861-8686 to see what they can do for you!

In conclusion, a must try! Feels like a trip to Italy but in the heart of old Montreal.

Alla Prossima!
